First-of-its-kind Symposium brings together information assurance experts across government and industry to share best practices.
Washington, DC, November 10, 2009 – SecureInfo® Corporation, a market-proven provider of Information Assurance solutions, today announced that it will be hosting an Information Assurance Symposium and Training Workshop at the Baypoint Marriott in Panama City Beach, Florida, February 22 – 25, 2010. This first-of-its-kind symposium brings together information assurance experts from the DoD, civilian government and industry. It provides a unique setting for education and discussion focused on optimizing the certification, accreditation and validation of information technology, which is critical to mission success.
“The Symposium provides a setting where participants can share challenges and best practices, and attend certification classes addressing the latest DoD, NIST and other regulations. This will allow them to complete information assurance tasks more efficiently and cost effectively,” said Christopher Fountain, CEO of SecureInfo, Inc. “We are honored to be hosting this event, which supports our long history of providing high value, practical information assurance training and education.”
The Symposium offers comprehensive Information Assurance courses, including certification classes for DoD Directive 8570.1M, NIST SP 800-37, DIACAP and DIACAP Validator. Attendees are eligible for continuing education credits for CISSP and CISM and the symposium is designed so participants can achieve more than one certification. SecureInfo, in partnership with Security Horizons, will teach the courses and provide expertise and facilitate best practice sharing.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in keynote sessions presented by industry leaders including Mr. Jerry L. Davis, Deputy CIO, IT Security, NASA; Dr. Ron Ross, Senior Computer Scientist, Information Security Researcher, NIST; and Mr. Patrick Howard, Chief Information Security Officer, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
In addition to formal training, the IA Symposium and Training Workshop offers an excellent opportunity for networking and informal discussion. The “Educate-at-Night” program includes evening Q&A sessions on various topics with information assurance experts, providing a forum for continued learning in an informal setting. A Golf tournament, evening receptions and other activities throughout the conference are designed to provide additional opportunities for participants to network with their peers.
