Sr. Information Security Engineer

Location: Washington, DC

Job Summary: To support our nation by delivering supplies and conducting specialized missions across the world's oceans. Position will be in support of the Military Sealift Command and may be on site at the Washington Naval Yard, DC.

Qualifications:

  • C&A (6 years total, at least one year of DIACAP) experience and experience (5 years) in Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) processes.
  • Experience (3 years) in C&A support for DoD and/or DON agencies.
  • Must be experienced and have in-depth knowledge of DIACAP guidance, DoDI 8510.01 and DoD IA Controls, DoD 8500.2.
  • Must have experience assessing compliance to DoD IA Controls.
  • Must have relevant hands on experience with Windows operating systems (W2K, W2K3, XP, W2K8, Vista), Unix, Linux, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, Demilitarized Zones (DMZs), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), routers, switches and SSL.
  • Must have some knowledge and experience with one of the following database management systems (Oracle, Sybase or SQL).
  • Experience (5 years) with RETINA (or other scanning tool), DISA Gold Disk, DISA STIGS and SRR (scripts).
  • Must have an understanding and in-depth knowledge of DoD and DON IA policy.
  • Experience (4 years) providing IA guidance and identifying IA requirements for system development and/or engineering projects.

IA Certification Requirement: Must possess security certification for the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) III and an operating system certification in accordance with the Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, DoD 8570.1-M.

Desired skills:

  • CISA certification approved Navy Certification Agent or approved Navy Validator.
  • Knowledge of MSC’s IA policy, COMSCINST 5239.3A and DON DIACAP Handbook.
  • Possess other security, operating system or IA-enabled device certification.
